As a Manufacturing Engineer on our team, you will function as a specialist within our Peoria Proving Ground ecosystem. Work assignments may be specialized in nature but will also be broad-based with coordination between other staff personnel to complete projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform Safety Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (SFMEA) for existing and new shop processes.
- Develop detailed work instructions for existing and improved shop processes.
- Train new experimental mechanics and develops training programs to ensure functional expertise is achieved.
- Engage in creative problem solving to address operational issues including ergonomic/ safety, efficiency improvements, process bottlenecks, quality concerns.
- Work with operations leaders and machine engineers to develop and manage projects that ensure efficient and cost-effective systems and processes are in place to produce quality service for machine product groups.
- Provide manufacturing technical support in process control and safety.
- Coordinate the purchase and application of machine tools, controls and related equipment corporate wide to ensure the latest technology is being used to increase efficiency and safety of operations.
- Design complex or intricate jigs and fixtures.
- Adheres to established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics, etc. in performing assigned duties.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or another technical or engineering discipline AND 8+ years related experience required.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Experience using MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.)
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific actions.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma.
- Previous experience evaluating processes and technical solutions.
- Computer skills: PowerBi, PowerAutomate, Visio, MS Access.
SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED:
