Job Summary: The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing the procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process. Their duties include researching automation techniques, testing new systems for efficiency and planning factory layouts to optimize production. Objectives include:
- Analyze existing systems and processes and identify value-added and non-value-added activities to solve design challenges.
- Conceive, design, develop, and test innovative solutions based on analysis and organizational objectives.
- Evaluate new and existing processes, equipment, and materials as an input for scheduling methods, performance metrics, and financial standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with ongoing projects and the maintenance of tools, equipment, and machinery; design and engineer new products.
- Assist with training new employees to work standards and Quality Objectives utilizing teamwork and positive attitude.
- In conjunction with sales staff, provide support and liaison with Customer's Engineering and Design personnel.
- Prepare product and process feasibility studies and all other documentation required to support customer expectations.
- Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Manage new product tooling programs and supervise tooling try-outs and sample and trial preparation for new processes.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services and make sure that manufacturer's procedures and instructions are followed to keep production equipment operational.
- Adhere to company policies and procedure.
- Participate in problem resolution, identify quality concerns, and communicate with departments with the facility.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- 3+ years' engineering experience
- Plastic automotive experience
- Has knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Has knowledge of customer requirements of FEMA, APQP, MSA, & SPC
- Hands on production floor problem solving skills
- Ability to work with a team
- Organizational and time management skills
Working Conditions:
- Office & manufacturing floor environment.
- The employee is regularly required to talk or hear, sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; also occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. Occasional lifting or moving objects of up to 25 pounds is possible; heavier objects will be moved with assistance from other employees or equipment.
