The Sr. IIoT Engineer drives industrial connectivity, data integration, and manufacturing optimization using IIoT solutions like ThingWorx and Kepware. This role enhances efficiency, supports data-driven decisions, and reduces costs while ensuring safety and compliance. This hands-on role bridges industrial operations and digital transformation, working closely with manufacturing teams, engineers, and leadership.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain IIoT solutions using ThingWorx, Kepware, and automation platforms.
- Design and deploy real-time data acquisition systems for predictive analytics and performance monitoring.
- Manage ThingWorx Mashups, services, and data models for user-friendly visualizations.
- Configure and maintain Kepware for seamless OPC communication.
- Integrate IIoT with MES, ERP, and CMMS to streamline workflows.
- Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement using IIoT insights.
- Deploy and maintain digital performance management (DPM) tools to track KPIs, OEE, and downtime.
- Collaborate with IT, OT, and cross-functional teams on cybersecurity, scalability, and sustainability.
- Provide training and documentation for plant personnel.
- Evaluate emerging IIoT, AI, and automation technologies for digital transformation.
- Stay updated on industry trends through conferences and continued education.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BS) in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline from an accredited university.
- 6 years of IIoT and manufacturing experience.
- In lieu of a degree 10 years IIoT and manufacturing experience.
- Experience in IIoT, industrial automation, or manufacturing IT systems, with a focus on improving manufacturing processes through data-driven decision-making.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with experience in PLC data integration, machine connectivity, and digital manufacturing solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and optimize ThingWorx-based applications for real-time monitoring, analytics, and efficiency tracking.
- Experience with Kepware OPC servers, including configuring data sources, managing industrial protocols, and optimizing connectivity.
- Proven track record of leading continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and DMAIC methodologies.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new digital tools to enhance manufacturing operations.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with experience collaborating across operations, engineering, IT, and leadership teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with data analysis tools such as Power BI.
- Experience deploying and managing ThingWorx applications, including Mashups, services, and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience integrating Kepware, OPC UA, MQTT, and other industrial communication protocols.
- Strong understanding of Factory 4.0 / Smart Factory concepts, including OEE tracking, predictive maintenance, and digital performance management (DPM).
- Familiarity with PLC programming and ladder logic.
- Experience with MES, SCADA, and ERP integration, particularly in Salesforce, AS400, MACPAC, or similar enterprise platforms.
- Working knowledge of robotic automation (FANUC, ABB, or similar), CNC machining, and industrial controls.
- Experience in root cause analysis, audits, and compliance reporting for manufacturing quality and efficiency tracking.
- Current PTC certifications in Thingworx and Kepware.
