As a senior manufacturing accounting analyst at Wegmans, you will provide financial oversight, analysis and interpretation for your assigned manufacturing facility's business. You will serve as a key resource to manufacturing leadership, utilizing key insight to recommend ways to control costs, improve profitability, and help operations run successfully. This is accomplished by preparing & analyzing annual budgets, monthly forecasts, weekly projections, compiling/interpreting month end results, calculating ROIs for capital projects and various analysis/reporting on cost to produce, with the ultimate goal of being customer solutions focused.
What will I do?
- Partner with manufacturing leadership and operations to field questions, review issues, share successes, and ensure each group has the tools to be successful
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to monitor costs to produce, and cost reduction opportunities; enable management to make effective production decisions
- Analyze weekly projections and complete month end closing for P&L; prepare monthly operating report with cost trends
- Identify improvement areas to reduce costs and increase profitability; provide proactive recommendations
- Provide accounting support for priority projects; communicate project status/challenges and recommend solutions to management
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Strong systems aptitude
- 3 or more years' experience with analyzing financial data and making recommendation based on interpretations and research
- Proficient Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong understanding of gross profit reporting and factors that influence results, including debits and credits
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with monitoring and controlling expense centers
- Experience with enterprise resource planning systems
- Experience with manufacturing operations accounting
