We are inclusive, customer-devoted, curious, courageous, discerning, and results-driven.The Sr. Manager, Sourcing will oversee sourcing and procurement strategies for Glossier, ensuring operational excellence, cost efficiency, and resiliency. This role will report directly to the Sr. Director of Product Operations. The Sr. Manager, Sourcing will foster a robust spirit of collaboration with its internal partners in Quality, Program Management and Supply Chain as well as cross-functional product partners in Product Development, Packaging Developing, Creative, Marketing and Finance. The primary responsibilities of this leader will be to identify, qualify, and maintain high-quality vendor partnerships that support the overall values and business objectives of Glossier for our finished goods and packaging solutions.This individual will also be expected to act as the internal champion for cost savings, margin and process improvements.Six Month Expectations
- Support sourcing analyst and manager through newly focused scope of work dedicated to excellence in cost of goods and supplier relationship management
- Drive cost optimization initiatives through more rigorous approach to RFQ, supplier negotiations, and more robust approach to costing stage gates in NPD
- Develop or leverage existing supplier relationships with existing Glossier suppliers to evolve transactional ways of working into stable and mutually beneficial partnerships
- Track and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate supplier performance and worth with Quality and Supply Planning teams to establish supplier expectations, and KPI targets, monitor performance to those targets and provide formal feedback and action plan expectations through a formal scorecard process.
- Assess suppliers for their lead time adherence, and work with the Supply Chain team to clearly define date fields, and ensure the measurement is fair and accurate.
- Champion the newly revised vendor onboarding process in partnership with the Product and Packaging Development teams.
- Partner with Product Development and Marketing teams to support innovation pipelines and deliver on-time, successful product launches.
- Collaborate with Operations and Quality teams to resolve issues and uphold product excellence.
- Partner with Finance on gross margin goals and reset of product cost of goods targets derived from their impact on time based financial goals
Twelve+ Month Expectations
- Rationalize suppliers active for Glossier through attrition of redundant supplier partnerships, exiting of high risk or low performing suppliers, and recruiting of new suppliers identified as stronger in key areas or that bring incremental value through innovation, competencies aligned to strategic needs of the business, cost competitiveness, or operational excellence
- Monitor supplier market trends (expansions of scope or scale, acquisitions and new venture alliances), industry advancements, external pressures, and supply chain risks to proactively identify opportunities and mitigate potential challenges.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for sourcing-related activities.
- Champion sustainable sourcing practices that align with Glossier's commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in sourcing or procurement within the beauty or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
- Experience managing international supplier relationships.
- Strong knowledge of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and supplier landscapes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Proven negotiation skills and experience managing supplier contracts and partnerships.
- Experience driving cost savings initiatives and managing budgets.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations.
- Proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, and other supply chain management tools.
In Accordance With The Applicable Law, The Following Represents a Good Faith Estimate Of The Minimum And Maximum Compensation Range For This Position
- The estimated annual pay range for this role is $106,000-$138,000.
- There may be future opportunities for continued pay progression based on continued strong performance in the role.Full-time positions are also eligible for a competitive compensation and benefits package that include medical health insurance, 401K, equity in the form of Restricted Stock Units, Paid Time Off, Short Term and Long Term Disability leave, and a range of other benefits.
