Salary Range: USD $176,000 - USD $260,000 per year

Our Opportunity

We seek a Senior Managing Engineer or Principal Engineer specializing in Energy Transition within our Thermal Sciences Practice. This role can be based in Natick MA, Menlo Park CA, Atlanta GA, Houston TX, Chicago IL, Bowie MD, Denver CO, or Phoenix AZ. You will work in a team to solve urgent, high-profile, multidisciplinary technical problems and expand our capabilities in renewable energy, energy storage, and related fields. Growth opportunities include project management, revenue generation, client relations, and staff hiring.

Responsibilities
  • Providing consulting services and developing business in systems related to wind, solar, hydrogen, alternative fuels, energy storage, transmission, and power plants.
  • Synthesizing information from investigations, testing, reviews, and analysis, and communicating technical conclusions effectively.
  • Promoting Exponent's expertise through client meetings, conference presentations, thought leadership, and seminars.
  • Managing and mentoring junior consultants.
Qualifications
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • PE license preferred.
  • Proven business development success.
  • Leadership, mentoring, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and travel as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

Our total compensation includes base salary, annual bonus, and a 7% 401(k) employer contribution. The salary range is dependent on experience and capabilities.
