Metropolis is seeking a Senior Manager for the Central Cloud Infrastructure team: the pivotal engineering group that governs cloud usage, manages foundational elements of the cloud, develops shared tooling for managing cloud resources, supports other teams through consultancy, and ensures the cloud is secure and meets compliance requirements. With a holistic perspective on Metropolis's cloud ecosystem, the team provides support for sub-systems such as workload orchestration, data persistence, observability, and endpoint access. In this role, you will lead a team of engineers in creating a system foundation, developing best practices, and engineering breakthroughs that accelerate other teams while maintaining the health of Metropolis's cloud and increasing the velocity of the CCI team itself. As a senior member of the Advanced Technologies Group, you will provide both technical and leadership support to find optimal solutions across various concerns and verticals.

• Facilitate the development of team strategy and scope for various timeframes, contributing to planning.
• Support tactical coordination of work streams and prioritization based on dependencies, urgency, and other factors.
• Support talent development by identifying and supporting team members' growth opportunities.
• Foster a collaborative environment that delivers business value efficiently.
• Maximize the utility of engineering deliverables by promoting their socialization, reusability, and value extraction.
• Maintain informative communication and collaboration with other teams to support CCI team members.
• Communicate team goals, activities, and progress to upper management, including success metrics.
• Act as a stakeholder for cloud and related systems, focusing on long-term health, performance, and efficiency.
• Participate in an on-call system to handle urgent issues.

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or relevant engineering discipline.
• 8+ years of experience, including 2+ years leading cloud infrastructure engineering teams.
• 2+ years as a senior, staff, or principal engineer before managing teams.
• Facilitative mindset with recognition of leadership roles within cloud infrastructure teams.
• Experience with cloud compliance requirements, disaster recovery, and technical solutions architecture.
• Proven track record developing cloud infrastructure aligned with product needs.
• Technical expertise in AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, containerization, SQL, cloud networking, and Python.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical info clearly to diverse audiences.
• Experience in innovative, high-growth environments is a plus.

This role offers a base salary ranging from $200,000 to $250,000 annually, determined by qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
