SAIC is seeking a Senior Logistics Analyst to support our Submarine Communications program for Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific. This logistician will work as part of a team that provides logistics support, warehousing, shipping/receiving, engineering, and distance support. In addition, the logistician will provide the overall Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) as part of a coordinated effort for Technical Assistance, Fleet Engineering Support, Maintenance, and Test and Evaluation. This will be an ONSITE role in San Diego, CA, must be local to area.
JOB DUTIES:
- Candidate will perform configuration management, material logistics, receipt Packaging, Handling, Storage and Transportation (PHS&T) functions while maintaining inventory control for the program.
- The logistician will plan, prepare, issue and control production schedules and coordinate with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
- They may represent customer and program in meetings and teleconferences.
- Execute material expediting functions as necessary to meet delivery schedules.
- Generate and coordinate shipments while verifying the accuracy of shipping documentation.
- Frequently use logistics software systems to cross-reference manufacturer's part numbers to National Stock Numbers (NSNs), identify part requisitioning information and locate material identified on engineering drawings.
- Identify vendors/distributors for parts. Initiate purchase requests for material or services.
- Continually track ordered material and provide estimated delivery dates.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree and 6 years related experience, or 10 years logistics experience.
- Active Secret Clearance Minimum to start.
- Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance after start.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs. at a time.
- Knowledge of relevant logistics software – Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Commercial Asset Visibility - Repairables Portal (CAV-RP), One Tough System (OTS), Web Federal Logistics Information System (WEBFLIS).
- In-depth experience with Military Standard Requisitioning and Issue Procedures (MILSTRIP)/ Military Standard Transaction Reporting and Accounting Procedures (MILSTRAP) logistics processes and procedures.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Understanding of inventory control practices. Conducting inventory audits in a logistics environment. Warehousing material working with Item Unique Identification (IUIDs).
- In-depth experience working with Department of Defense (DOD)/Navy forms such as DD 1149 and DD1348-1A.
- Solid understanding of MS Office programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing requirements.
- Experience in defense life-cycle logistics support, specifically managing electronic systems.
- Experience with Navy Shipboard Systems.
- Experience working in a Performance-Based Logistics Organic (PBLO) environment.
