As a Senior Integrated Cybersecurity Architect, you will play a pivotal role in promoting and ensuring the adherence to cybersecurity architectural principles, standards, and design patterns within a dynamic team environment. Your expertise will guide engineering teams in creating secure products and enterprise tools for both multi-cloud and on-premises systems.
This role emphasizes collaboration as you work closely with product and engineering teams to address unique cybersecurity challenges, enhancing the overall security posture across the organization. You will report directly to the Director of Integrated Cybersecurity Architecture at Cox Automotive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively communicate cybersecurity guidelines to engineering and business teams, supporting their seamless adoption.
- Maintain continuous engagement with engineering teams to advise on architecture decisions and assist with cybersecurity control implementations.
- Contribute to identifying and mitigating cybersecurity risks by conducting thorough threat modeling of products and enterprise tools.
- Provide expert advice and consultation on cybersecurity architecture across major programs and solutions.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity peers to foster a cohesive department and relay insights on business-specific activities.
- Work alongside enterprise architecture, infrastructure, and engineering teams to assess existing architecture, identify security gaps, and recommend enhancements.
- Participate in security events and incident response to identify design weaknesses and propose solutions for future prevention of threats.
- Educate product and enterprise architects, as well as engineers, on best practices and standards in cybersecurity.
- Collaborate with legal, governance, risk, and compliance teams to ensure cybersecurity architecture meets relevant regulatory and contractual obligations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field with at least 6 years of relevant experience, or a combination of advanced degrees and experience.
- Minimum of 4 years specifically focused on cybersecurity.
- Experience designing, securing, or operating AWS infrastructure and services.
- Ability to communicate the objectives of cybersecurity policies and procedures to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong customer service skills alongside excellent writing and presentation capabilities.
- Proven ability to create a collaborative environment and share cybersecurity best practices across teams.
- Consultative approach to navigating complex issues with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in risk evaluation and providing actionable recommendations.
- Familiarity with current cybersecurity architectures and technologies including zero trust, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and DevSecOps.
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with business acumen.
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Ability to drive change in Fortune 1000 organizations.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., ISO 27000, NIST) and relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing cybersecurity best practices for both cloud and on-premises environments.
- Familiarity with IAM, cryptography, access controls, and security protocols.
- Hands-on experience with application security implementations.
- Extensive knowledge of programming technologies including Python, .NET, and Java.
- Experience with firewalls and network security architectures.
- Knowledge of the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- Demonstrated success in establishing strategies for cloud enterprise solutions.
- Understanding of cloud containers and serverless platforms.
- Background in critical infrastructure industries (telecommunications, financial services, etc.).
- Experience with a Big Four consulting firm or a Fortune 500 company.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are a plus.
The role offers a competitive salary range of $119,600.00 - $199,400.00 per year, which may vary based on factors like location and the candidate's qualifications and experience. Additional compensation, including incentive programs, may be available.
