Description

SAIC is seeking an experienced Senior Ground Segment Systems Engineer to support the US Space Force (USSF) in developing, deploying, and sustaining a National Security Space system within the Space Systems Command Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power (SSC/SZ) system program office. This position is located in El Segundo, CA.

Responsibilities include:

  • Helping shape systems architecting and engineering activities such as requirements definition, design, interface management, data architecture, verification and validation, integration, performance analysis, lifecycle cost analysis, decision analysis, and configuration assessments.
  • Supporting customer team in executing acquisition strategies, integration, and sustainment of cloud-based software systems with mission partner systems.
  • Developing and managing ground segment technical and interface requirements, negotiating interfaces with stakeholders, and overseeing verification.
  • Managing software product backlog, prioritizing development, and improving implementation processes.
  • Converting product requirements into comprehensive system solutions considering technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Supporting system engineering items like CONOPs, requirements definitions, system testing, and interface development.
  • Refining acquisition strategies, identifying issues, and providing recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Engineering or relevant field + 14+ years of experience (or 18+ years without degree).
  • Active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI with polygraph.

Experience with:

  • Space systems engineering, program management, and government acquisitions within Space Control.
  • Modern software development practices including containerization, DevSecOps, Agile methodologies.
  • Ground segment systems including cloud infrastructure, PaaS, antennas.
  • Zero-Trust cybersecurity policies.
  • Software systems engineering, design, architecture, and CI/CD pipelines.

Target salary range $200,001 - $240,000.
