Join the TIMSS & PIRLS International Study Center (ISC) as the Senior Graphic Designer/Graphic Designer and become part of a team of experts redefining the measurement of mathematics, science, and reading achievement through TIMSS and PIRLS, which together represent the worldwide standard for assessment in these core subjects. Located at Boston College's Lynch School of Education and Human Development, IEA's TIMSS & PIRLS (ISC) conducts regular international comparative assessments of student achievement in mathematics and science (TIMSS) and in reading (PIRLS) in more than 60 countries. TIMSS (the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) and PIRLS (the Progress in International Reading Literacy Study) together comprise the core cycle of studies for IEA the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement. Headquartered in Amsterdam and with a major data processing and research center in Hamburg, IEA has been conducting international comparative studies of student achievement since 1959. TIMSS and PIRLS enable participating countries to make evidence-based decisions for improving educational policy. The TIMSS & PIRLS (ISC) is seeking a skilled Graphic Designer/Illustrator with expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) to create publications, infographics, and illustrations. Responsibilities include designing print and digital publications using Adobe InDesign, creating illustrations with Adobe Illustrator, and creating or editing images with Adobe Photoshop. The role involves collaborating with teams, translating ideas into visuals, and ensuring content aligns with brand objectives. The designer will also prepare files for print and the Web and ensure adherence to brand guidelines. Reporting to the Director of Graphic Design and Publications, the candidate will work directly with researchers, assessment developers, reporting staff, and the front-end web developer in the design department, as well as project partners such as the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA) and external vendors. Required qualifications include proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, a strong portfolio, understanding of design principles and theory, strong visual storytelling skills, creativity, strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Experience with print and digital media is also required. A degree in graphic design or a related field is preferred, but proven experience and a strong portfolio are also considered. Full-time Equivalent Hiring Range: Senior Graphic Designer - $65,650 - $81,950 (5+ years related experience) Graphic Designer - $59,400 - $74,250 (1-5 years related experience). Salary commensurate with relative experience.
