Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply advanced skills in mechanics to assess and resolve issues independently, employing established procedures in unique work scenarios.
  • Conduct comprehensive servicing and repair on diverse equipment types, addressing malfunctioning parts and systems according to manufacturer specifications and company standards.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior mechanics.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment functionality and safety.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues visually or utilizing computer diagnostic tools.
  • Keep detailed records of time, materials used, equipment conditions, and repairs conducted.
  • Utilize software to track information, ensuring repair orders and weekly timesheets are accurately completed.
  • Conduct safety inspections of equipment and prepare necessary safety documentation.
  • Comply with regulations from DOT, EPA, OSHA, and other relevant agencies.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance safety skills and stay updated on hazardous material protocols.
  • Maintain regular and dependable attendance.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned and necessary.
  • Carry out essential functions in designated company facilities or field locations.
  • Adhere to the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship in vehicle and equipment repair, along with four years of experience, or five years of practical experience in heavy truck, automotive, or equipment repair; equivalent training may be counted towards this requirement.
  • Able to operate company vehicles and equipment regularly and hold the appropriate licensing.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, though not required.

  • Reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • Team-oriented mindset for effective collaboration.
  • Effective communication abilities for conversing with colleagues, understanding orders and instructions, and making accurate daily log entries.
  • Basic proficiency in computer skills or data entry.
  • Experience with mechanical tools, materials, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle and equipment design, function, maintenance, and repair.
  • Ability to follow established safety procedures and rules.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to reach (including overhead), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel to conduct repairs and inspections.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, 25 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds consistently.
  • Capable of performing work in both climate-controlled indoor settings with moderate to loud noise levels and outdoor conditions, including potential inclement weather.
  • May encounter various physical hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
  • Potential exposure to vibrations affecting the body or extremities.

  • Salary: $58,240 - $70,720 per year, based on experience and paid weekly. Please note that MYR Group may adjust salary ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. Previously, we offered the option for two remote workdays weekly for eligible positions dependent on performance.
