Job Title: Senior Firmware Engineer
Location: On Site - Bohemia, New York, United States
Base pay range
$150,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of digital circuits and systems using VHDL.
- Create and execute test plans, perform simulations, and validate designs to ensure high performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with system architects, hardware engineers, and software developers to define and implement solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to digital designs, including debugging and optimizing FPGA and software interactions.
- Maintain detailed documentation of design processes, methodologies, and results for knowledge sharing.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and resource requirements to meet market demands.
- Mentor junior engineers, sharing best practices and expertise in digital design.
- Research and implement new methods, technologies, and tools to enhance product quality and performance.
Must-Have Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
- 8-15 years of experience in digital design and development, including FPGA projects.
- Proficiency in VHDL and FPGA design tools (e.g., Xilinx, Altera).
- Experience with network protocols, including PCIe, 1G/10G Ethernet, and TSN.
- Strong understanding of FPGA architectures, digital design principles, and high-speed designs.
- Experience with the DO-254 certification process across all Stages of Involvement (SOI).
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a detail-oriented approach.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective teamwork.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with other hardware description languages, such as Verilog.
- Familiarity with Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) and other verification methods.
- Proficiency in embedded software design using C/C++.
- Knowledge of additional FPGA tools and advanced verification methodologies.
- Experience working in Aerospace, Defense, or Space industries.
