FJC – A Foundation of Philanthropic Funds (FJC) is a boutique public charity that offers a diverse menu of philanthropic services to a range of stakeholders. With $450 million in assets under management, FJC primarily manages Donor Advised Funds (DAFs). Its portfolio includes over 1,200 accounts such as fiscal sponsorships, collective giving accounts, and other philanthropic vehicles that support nonprofits and their supporters in achieving their missions. To date, FJC has facilitated over $750 million in grants and $400 million in loans to charities worldwide. Position:

The Senior Financial Analyst, reporting directly to the Controller and indirectly to the CFO/CIO, plays a vital role within the Finance Department. Responsibilities include managing and analyzing financial activities related to investments, disbursements, budgeting, and financial planning. The analyst supports strategic decision-making by providing accurate financial insights and ensuring data integrity across operations.

Donors contribute a variety of assets, including cash, securities, and complex assets, which are invested in financial products aligned with our Board's investment strategy. The organization also supports customized investment approaches, including hedge funds and alternative investments, to grow funds for nonprofits.

The Senior Financial Analyst will support this dynamic investment environment, engage with complex investment structures, develop processes for transparency and performance tracking, and collaborate with a team dedicated to maximizing impact in philanthropy. This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical and accounting skills seeking professional growth and exposure to sophisticated financial strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounting and financial reporting for FJC's investment portfolio, including recording and reconciling activity such as donated securities, market value adjustments, and fund transactions; oversee daily pricing data feeds; conduct financial analysis for new investment opportunities; and prepare quarterly performance reports and strategies for senior leadership.
  • Support budgeting processes by preparing monthly variance reports and drafting the annual operational budget.
  • Manage accounts payable and disbursements, including ACH payments, vendor setup, invoice review, and classification.
  • Assist with cash management by monitoring balances and helping the CFO/CIO with rebalancing recommendations.
  • Maintain key financial metrics and prepare recurring reports on grants, loans, contributions, and loan programs.
  • Assist in audit preparation, tax filings (including Form 990), and compliance activities.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses, manage authorized account access, and contribute to strategic financial oversight as needed.
  • Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis; nonprofit experience is a plus.
    • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required.
    • Excellent client service and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat; experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, or QuickBooks is a plus.
    • Self-starter, organized, detail-oriented, timely, efficient; strong communication skills; able to multitask, solve problems, meet deadlines, and work independently or in a team.

    Salary & Benefits:

    Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include health insurance (nearly 100% covered), life, vision, dental, disability insurance, and a 401(k) plan with employer contributions.
