Position Summary

As the Senior Safety Coordinator, you play a key role on the EH&S Team, supporting Applied Digital's blockchain Data Center operations by ensuring a safe and compliant work environment. You will coordinate and monitor safety programs, conduct regular inspections, lead incident investigations, and provide training to site personnel and contractors. This position focuses on the unique safety demands of blockchain Data Centers, including high-voltage electrical systems, industrial cooling infrastructure, continuous 24/7 operations, and contractor-heavy project work. You will work across multiple sites and operational teams to drive a proactive safety culture and ensure all activities meet regulatory and company safety standards.

Position Responsibilities

  • Support the development, implementation, and enforcement of safety policies, procedures, and programs across blockchain Data Center sites.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and hazard assessments, focusing on high-voltage electrical systems, industrial cooling equipment, and confined spaces.
  • Lead incident investigations, document findings, and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
  • Deliver safety training and toolbox talks tailored to the hazards of blockchain Data Center operations.
  • Monitor contractor safety compliance during construction, maintenance, and expansion activities.
  • Assist with the development and upkeep of site-specific safety plans for 24/7 operational facilities.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, including training logs, inspection reports, and incident documentation.
  • Coordinate with site leadership to integrate safety into all operational and maintenance activities.
  • Track and report safety performance metrics, highlighting trends and recommending improvements.
  • Support emergency preparedness, including drills for fire, electrical hazards, and equipment failures.
  • Promote a culture of continuous safety awareness and operational discipline.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as needed to ensure the success and safety of the company.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices, with specific familiarity in electrical and mechanical hazard control.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex safety challenges in high-energy environments.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, contractor-heavy environment.
  • Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across departments and with external vendors and contractors.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Role Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in safety coordination or EH&S roles, preferably in industrial, Utilities, or Data Center environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety practices, and hazard mitigation strategies.
  • Experience managing safety in environments with high electrical loads, industrial cooling systems, and continuous operations preferred.
  • Proven ability to conduct safety inspections, audits, and investigations.
  • Excellent communication and training skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and safety management systems.
  • Valid driver's license and ability/willingness to travel between sites.

Physical Requirements

Able to remain in a seated position for an extended period and to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. (office manuals, case notebooks, case files, case materials, standard boxes, report binders, etc.) as needed.

Working Conditions Based on Position/Location

Remote: The Company agrees that Employee may work from home provided employee is in good standing, has a continuous secured internet connection, necessary equipment, and is accessible by MS Teams, phone, fax, and email during business hours. (See Telework policy.)

Office Environment: Business office hours, with work hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions. Some overtime may be required to accomplish timely work demands and meet the company's professional commitments. Overtime hours worked are paid to nonexempt employees at one and a half times their hourly pay rate.

Site Location: We are a 24-hour facility. Work hours (shifts) are assigned as necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions, ensure compliance, and support efficient company operations. Some positions require work at irregular hours (nights/weekends), overtime, alternating shifts, and working in challenging conditions (heat/cold, hazardous environments, loud worksites). Overtime hours worked are paid to nonexempt employees at one and a half times their hourly pay rate.
