ZO Motors is seeking a highly motivated software and control engineer to join us in the development and deployment of our zero-emission commercial vehicles with Li-ion battery and Hydrogen technologies for the global markets. This individual will collaborate closely with both internal team and external vendors to focus on vehicle control software development, testing & validation. This individual must have strong knowledge of vehicle control systems and familiar with CAN, LIN, and ethernet protocol. This individual must be hands-on in vehicle diagnostics, CAN signal collection and analysis. strong results. What you'll do

  • Establish and execute test & validation plan for all vehicle control and software, with clear focus on meeting project timeline and budget. Summarize progress status regularly to report to company executives.
  • Lead testing activities on proving ground, public road, and in lab.
  • Trouble shooting software and control related issues identified during testing and come up with solutions to resolve those issues.
  • Work closely with outside vendors and suppliers as well as internal marketing team to develop the functions and features of vehicle control units such as VCU, Infotainment, and integrate into the overall vehicle system, and validate against targets.
  • Integrate control of upfitting systems such as cargo box refrigeration, hydraulic lift gate, and other electric Power-Take-off options with the vehicle to ensure the functionality & efficiency.
  • Directly report to the company CTO with extensive cross-functional coordination with engineering, marketing & sales, homologation and regulations, supply chain management, manufacturing, services and outside vendors.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years Experiences in vehicle software development and testing.
  • Familiar with electric vehicle diagnostic protocols (J1939, OBD-II), and automotive communication standards (CAN, LIN, Ethernet), and OTA.
  • Hands-on experiences in flashing software, collect and interpret CAN signals,
  • Strong capability in managing suppliers/vendors to meet project objectives.
  • Good communication skills and high degree of autonomy with the ability to navigate ambiguous problems, develop solutions, and drive products forward with minimal guidance.
  • Expected to travel (~25%) including oversea travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent
  • Experience in software release process.
  • Experience in fleet management system and logistics management system.
  • Experience in international connectivity services and cloud services such as AWA, AZURE, etc.

The pay range for this role is:

100,000 - 140,000 USD per year (Fontana Plant )
