The Infrastructure Operations Team is a globally distributed group responsible for managing Nutanix hyper-converged infrastructure and supporting Windows and Linux workloads across North American datacenters and edge locations. Operating 24/7 with members in Sri Lanka and Costa Rica, the team ensures high availability, scalability, and performance of enterprise systems in Sysco's Private Cloud. Key responsibilities include managing virtualization platforms, optimizing Linux and Windows servers, and maintaining global security compliance through patch management.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer / Engineer - Infrastructure to join our Infrastructure Operations team. The role involves supporting, optimizing, and securing Windows systems, contributing to global OS patch management efforts, managing and supporting the Nutanix virtualization platform, and collaborating with a globally distributed team in a 24x7 operational environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development (Web applications) who is also willing to learn and support other areas of Private Cloud infrastructure operations. This role will involve a balanced mix of software development and operational support, with 60% of the responsibilities dedicated to developing and maintaining web applications (web tools developed to manage infrastructure and other operational aspects within the Infrastructure Operations team), and the other 40% focused on infrastructure and operational management. Strong foundation in Java, Spring Boot, React JS, and MySQL, along with experience in cloud platforms like AWS or Azure (for deploying and maintaining internal applications) is required and knowledge with Linux, Windows or virtual technologies will be an added advantage.
