Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Relay Engineer. With protective relay experience and a wide range of other electrical engineering experience you will work on a wide variety of electrical projects in a multi-disciplined firm. Experience with power plant projects is beneficial and familiarity with transmission, distribution and substation design is helpful.

Experience in the following:

• Protective relay experience in determining the type of protection for high/medium voltage and 480V loads as well as breaker failure and downstream coordination.
• Familiarity with programming SEL relays.
• Equipment sizing should include such experience as sizing cables in duct banks, cable, trays, conduit and open wire.
• Experience with power plant and/or substation layout and determining clearances between phases and equipment to meet code requirements and for maintenance and safety.
• Familiarity with the NFPA, NEC codes and OSHA standards.
• Familiarity with equipment grounding requirements.
• Ability to lead projects from conception through executing to ensure adherence to safety regulations and cost-efficiency.
• Conducting arc flash analysis, load flow, short circuit and protective device coordination studies.
• The candidate must be able to work on multiple projects at the same time.

Job Requirements:

• Must have a 4-year Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Electrical Registered Licensed Professional Engineer in at least one state.
• A minimum of 10 to 20 years' experience with substation and power plant design projects is preferred.
• Willing to travel 5 to10% of the time.
