Job Summary:

The National Security Sector at Leidos has an opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the Navy's Aircrew Electronic Warfare Tactical Training Ranges (AEWTTR) mission. In this role, you will provide vital engineering support for the design, modification, and maintenance of ground radar and associated devices, ensuring that our Navy aircrews receive the best Electronic Warfare (EW) training possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for DOD Tactical Training Ranges, addressing system repairs, upgrades, and modernization.
  • Apply systems engineering rigor to support the development and maintain high-performance RF integrated radar simulators.
  • Lead and manage complex projects across multiple engineering disciplines to ensure critical objectives are met.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-domain technical teams to influence decision-making on solutions and designs.
  • Utilize creativity to solve complex technical issues impacting various engineering disciplines.
  • Implement systems based on broad operational needs while adhering to DOD policy.
  • Integrate emerging technologies into radar simulator designs that are mobile, modular, and open architecture.
  • Design and develop integrated electronic systems, including radars and signal generators.
  • Develop specifications for RF amplifiers, antennas, and integrated assemblies.
  • Design custom RF hardware, test fixtures, and adaptors for testing environments.
  • Manage requirements to ensure clarity and compliance with user and performance criteria.
  • Model RF signal chains to predict system behavior using MATLAB and similar tools.
  • Conduct design verification tests and report on prototype outcomes.
  • Oversee the release of design packages to production management systems.
  • Troubleshoot system anomalies through in-depth root-cause analysis.
  • Produce comprehensive documentation, including schematics and reports on tests and design justifications.
  • Support EMI/EMC evaluations and deploy necessary shielding strategies.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support their development in DOD system sustainment.
  • Contribute to the integration of systems in field deployments.
  • Review vendor proposals for compliance and contribute to technical meetings and briefings.
  • Engage with leadership to define project requirements and manage risks effectively.
  • Create technical content for both internal and external briefings and reviews.
  • Network within the field of expertise to stay informed of best practices and new technologies.
  • Author technical reports and white papers for dissemination.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance is required.
  • Experience in RF and Microwave Circuit Design, Radar, and Electronic Warfare.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ten years of direct experience in RF and Radar systems design and sustainment.

Pay Range: $104,650.00 - $189,175.00

The pay range is provided as a guideline and may vary based on a variety of factors.
