This company, a leader in the Engineering and Maintenance sector, requires 2 EC&I Design Engineers to be based at their prestigious client site in St Helens. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a leading Engineering and Maintenance provider supporting customers across various markets including chemical & petrochemical, nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals & biopharma, power & energy, utilities, renewables, and food & beverage.
Pay Rate: £40,000 - £60,000 DOE Plus excellent benefits
Location: St Helens
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week with the option for hybrid working
Senior EC&I Design Engineer Responsibilities
- Responsible for the Electrical Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) designs of electrical control panels and related systems.
- Act as a technical authority for the EC&I discipline, supporting the Engineering Manager to achieve business targets.
- Understand customer requirements and translate these into engineering solutions.
- Manage and complete EC&I engineering and design projects, supporting construction throughout the manufacturing stage, including change control.
- Contribute to planning and executing tasks to deliver specific objectives on time, controlling costs and quality.
- Client-facing role, managing client expectations regarding project scope.
- Carry out, check, and approve engineering and design estimates, and report on project costs, scope changes, and man-hours.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of security clearance is ideal, or the ability to obtain UK security clearance.
- Experience in highly regulated environments such as nuclear, defence, oil & gas, or power is highly desirable.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications/experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional engineering design/technical specialist experience.
- Strong theoretical and practical electrical engineering knowledge, including developing, testing, and evaluating engineering designs.
- Low Voltage switchgear design experience and control/automation system design experience are advantageous.
- Motor Control Centre and Variable Drive System design experience are advantageous.
- Experience with AutoCAD packages, including Eplan and AutoCAD Electrical.
- Familiarity with AMTECH.
