Position Details: The Senior District Manager reports directly to the Director, Branch Network. The role is responsible for leading a district of branches to provide the best customer service, at the lowest cost, and with the best team member experience. To achieve this, Senior District Managers are expected to ensure operational excellence, customer satisfaction and team member engagement by leveraging critical thinking, data driven problem-solving, and continuous improvement. You will have 16-20 exempt level-leaders reporting to you. This district has responsbility for NY, NJ, NH, ME, MA, and CT and this role requires travel to all locations within the district. Ideal candidate would live in one of these states. The salary range for this position is $118,000 to 197,000 and this role is bonus eligible.This range provided is a guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Other factors that are involved in offer decisions include and not limited to: Candidate experience, qualification, geographical area and internal equity of the team. You Will: Responsible for implementing the Branch Network strategy at a district level. Create a culture that values safety and enables continuous improvement. Execute key metrics related to people, service, operational excellence, and profitable growth. Lead assigned branches in the standardization of core processes. Identify, develop, and engage a strong leadership team. Develop a strong bench of future leaders through succession planning. Build strong partnerships across the enterprise and represent the branch value proposition to differentiate Grainger versus the competition. Key partners include HR, GTG, Finance, EH&S, Indirect Purchasing, Supplier Management, Global Supply Chain, Keepstock, and Sales Represent the district on customer engagements to ensure they make financial sense and then execute flawlessly. Support the Director in partnering with Grainger's Real Estate and Finance teams to ensure optimal utilization of Branch locations. Leverage critical thinking and data driven problem-solving to balance cost with exceptional customer service. Champion new/improved processes to the customer walk-in and pickup experience. Identify best practices both within and outside of Grainger. Recommend operational changes as appropriate and may support development and implementation of recommendations. You Have: Bachelor's degree requied, MBA Preferred with strong business and financial acumen 5-7+ years of leadership experience within a complex customer and/or supply chain environment. Demonstrates a broad-based understanding of business processes and relationships. Demonstrates an understanding of the supply chain and knowledge of the key drivers within the supply chain which impact service and profitability. Demonstrates the ability to lead through others in both a direct reporting relationship and in a cross-functional matrix managed team. Must be able to effectively communicate Network strategy and direction and inspire others to take action. Effectively leverage resources to achieve outstanding results working with and through others. Strong critical thinking and problem solving. Must be able to analyze the impact of decisions on key metrics and partners. Ability to build, lead and develop high performing teams.
