Responsibilities
- Develop and drive the strategy for assigned products, with direct oversight of a team of Product Managers and indirect oversight across multiple functions for the scope of assigned products. Ensure the product delivers quantifiable value and is aligned to market requirements.
- Define and implement the product vision and strategy to establish and maintain continuous delivery of innovation and upkeep of products in line with the assigned product group, company strategy, business objectives and risk appetite.
- Partner with the commercial organization to understand business requirements and objectives, aligning roadmaps and delivery pipelines to achieve successful outcomes.
- Operate within the product management and commercialization process from ideation through operation to identify opportunities for commercializing advances in data science, AI, analytics and technology in CRE.
- Execute quarterly reviews of the product group strategy to drive roadmap prioritization and performance of existing offers; assess business objectives and technology strategy.
- Define customer value of commercial releases and ensure products deliver on these value promises, constructing appropriate product metrics.
Product Roadmap
- Produce and maintain a two-year product roadmap that aligns product management, architecture, user experience and development with the business strategy and risk posture.
- Ensure effective roadmap execution by adhering to Altus product management methodology and agile processes; maintain backlog and prioritize requirements.
- Document clear product requirements and align product and solution architectures to drive delivery plans; ensure releases meet functional and non-functional requirements.
- Gather input and feedback from clients, users and stakeholders to inform priorities and resource planning.
- Balance innovation, enhancements and maintenance within the roadmap to meet objectives on retention, growth and risk.
Product Management Method
- Collaborate across product management, architecture and development; establish and maintain product management standards in requirements, design, UX and quality criteria.
Innovation And Research
- Drive market and product requirements discovery through market research and competitive analysis.
- Define requirements for technology, innovation and analytics to align business needs with roadmaps; gather feedback to influence technology and innovation timing.
- Build relationships with clients and industry partners to validate product strategy; assist in creating roadmap presentations for customers and internal teams.
- Collaborate with all functions on product definitions, messaging, pricing, and segmentation; manage communications with stakeholders to align strategy and plans.
Team Leadership
- Operate within the defined operating model and RACI with lines of business, marketing, offer management, Altus Labs, IT and product development; maintain a clear team structure and capacity to meet plans.
- Manage product management budget and participate in annual and quarterly financial planning.
- Recruit and manage performance; ensure clear roles, goals, development plans and mentoring to build a high-performing team.
- Communicate business direction to the team and align individual goals to business strategy; ensure compliance with strategies, roadmaps and delivery plans.
Key Requirements
- Advanced degree in technology or engineering
- Minimum 7 years of relevant product management experience
- Background in commercial real estate software and solutions
- Experience with data and analytics product management (preferred)
- Skilled in defining and presenting innovation to public forums
- Expert in using customer insights and data to inform decision-making
- Expert in user research, data analysis, and agile product management
- Expert in process management and continuous improvement for data and analytics products
- Advanced knowledge of pricing best practices
- Capable in product management and product strategy development
- Capable in acquiring, developing, and retaining product management talent
- Capable in understanding subscription economics and SaaS business models
