The position provides leadership and accountability for infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and enterprise applications, with supervisory oversight of IT operations and vendor partners. This is a full-time position, based out of SW, DC.The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $150,000 and the offer amount is determined by the candidate's education, qualifications, and experience. Indeed provides its own estimated salary calculator and is not affiliated with COH's range.Highlighted Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversee all IT systems and infrastructure, including servers, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365, phones, and clinical/business applications.
- Manage critical systems and backups, monitor infrastructure alerts, and ensure continuity through strong redundancy and failover practices.
- Guide risk management by proactively identifying vulnerabilities, escalating issues, and implementing controls for devices, data access, and remote connections.
- Lead implementation of new technologies and upgrades, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and staff experience.
- Partner with Health leadership to ensure clinical tools (e.g., EHR, referral systems) support proactive, data-informed care and population health goals.
- Prepare and manage the IT budget in coordination with the VP of Finance and Operations, ensuring investments reflect cost-effectiveness, interoperability, and evolving standards (e.g., TEFCA, FHIR).
- Communicate IT strategy clearly across departments and ensure adoption through ongoing collaboration, training, and cross-functional engagement.
- Provide regular check-ins, real-time feedback, and timely performance evaluations; identify and support professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Health IT, Computer Science, or a related field required. Master's degree in a relevant field preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive I leadership, including 5+ years in Health IT, EHR, or clinical technology required.
- Familiarity with Health Information Exchanges (e.g., CRISP, PRISMA) and emerging interoperability standards preferred.
- Experience with eClinicalWorks, Microsoft 365, Sage Intacct, and network/system architecture preferred.
- Strong track record aligning IT strategy with clinical workflows, compliance, and cybersecurity.
- Experience managing enterprise systems, infrastructure, and vendor partnerships.
- Strategic thinker and hands-on leader with excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Deep understanding of HIPAA/HITECH and IT security standards.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven healthcare environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of IT policy development and implementation preferred.
- Willingness to be on-site full-time and respond to critical IT issues after hours.
- Ability to travel between DC-based service locations as needed.
- In relation to remote work versus on-site expectations, this position is classified as the following: On Site: A majority or all of the position is required to work on-site with regular presence across our service locations. Remote work of up to one day per week may be available once systems and operations stabilize.

About UsCommunity of Hope is a mission-driven, innovative, and rapidly growing nonprofit. For 45 years, we have provided healthcare, housing, and community support services to make Washington, DC more equitable. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, we provide medical, dental, emotional wellness, and care coordination services for the whole family at three locations in DC. Community of Hope also strongly emphasizes maternal and child health, with midwifery practice and the only free-standing birth center in DC. In 2024, Community of Hope provided about 50,000 medical visits, 6,300 dental visits, and 17,000 behavioral health visits for about 16,000 patients. Community of Hope is also one of the largest providers of homelessness prevention and housing services for 1,600 households—1,384 families and 220 individuals—experiencing homelessness in DC. Community support through Family Success Center, our WIC nutrition centers, and perinatal care coordination for pregnant people experiencing homelessness reach hundreds more families.
