We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Senior Director to lead our Grants and Strategy function. This critical leadership role will design and execute a forward-thinking philanthropy strategy that is deeply integrated with BNY's core business objectives. The successful candidate will drive initiatives that not only generate meaningful social and economic impact but also enhance BNY's competitive positioning and unlock new commercial opportunities.

This role is located in NEW YORK, NYIn this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Architect and implement a comprehensive philanthropy strategy that aligns with BNY's strategic priorities and delivers measurable social and business outcomes.
  • Identify, cultivate, and leverage philanthropic opportunities that strengthen client relationships, support business development, and create synergistic value across the firm.
  • Lead, inspire, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed philanthropy into BNY's culture, fostering high employee engagement and securing broad stakeholder alignment and support.
  • Employ a data-driven mindset, utilizing advanced analytics and reporting tools to rigorously measure, track, and communicate the impact and ROI of philanthropic investments on both social and business metrics.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on philanthropy-related initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader corporate goals and market trends.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in developing and executing philanthropy, corporate social responsibility, and social impact strategies that align with and drive business objectives.
  • Experience in business management, client relationship management, or strategic planning, bringing a strong commercial mindset to the role.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with a track record of managing and motivating diverse, cross-functional teams.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities that link philanthropy to commercial growth and client engagement.
  • Expertise in leveraging data analytics and modern technology platforms to drive decision-making and demonstrate impact.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging senior executives and external partners.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $200,000 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
