The Senior Director, Pharma Services Group (PSG) Global Controller acts as a leader to support the delivery of our financial objectives. Responsibilities include all accounting and controllership activities to implement financial goals and initiatives for a growing organization.

If you have a passion for financial accuracy and timeliness across a global, multi-faceted organization, Thermo Fisher Scientific's Accounting and Controllership team is for you. This team ensures compliance with laws, regulations, and USGAAP reporting requirements, utilizing innovative systems, controls, and processes to protect assets and support growth. Your role includes technical accounting, budgeting, forecasting, planning, and reporting, building relationships with audit teams and business partners to drive decisions and mitigate risks.

What you will do:

  • Lead accounting and control activities, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, SOX, and internal policies.
  • Manage a team of senior controllers responsible for accounting and compliance.
  • Coordinate revenue recognition processes, reviewing contracts and ensuring ASC 606 compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in financial processes.
  • Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic decisions.
  • Set strategies and objectives for the Controllership team.
  • Oversee work of shared service centers and partner with Technical Accounting for standards implementation.
  • Establish strong internal controls to safeguard assets and mitigate risks.
  • Conduct financial analysis and reviews to support decision-making.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team, fostering professional growth.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with 15+ years of accounting experience, including 10+ years in management.
  • CPA or equivalent certification.
  • Controllership experience in a large global company.
  • Preferred: Experience in the Life Sciences industry.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Leadership of large distributed teams and driving change.
  • Expertise in ASC 606 Revenue Recognition.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and organizational skills.
  • Judgment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to plan strategically for short and long-term goals.

Travel requirements: 20% domestic/international travel.
