Senior Director, Associate General Counsel, Employment - Garrison : Job Details

A Virginia-based company which provides best-in-class logistics, medical, security, and support services to U.S. Federal, State, and local customers, as well as commercial clients worldwide has engaged Garrison (on an exclusive basis) to recruit an employment counsel. Our client has an ambitious growth plan and is seeking exceptional legal talent to help drive its mission forward. The company currently has 2,000+ employees, operations in more than a dozen states and nine different countries.

Role: Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, this role will have primary responsibility for labor and employment legal matters and serve as a trusted in-house generalist supporting a wide range of business operations. The role requires close collaboration with HR, Recruiting, Operations, Contracts, and Finance, with a strong focus on providing subject matter expertise to HR. Hybrid schedule (a couple of days a month in the office).

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise on labor and employment issues under federal, state, and local laws, as well as select international jurisdictions.
• Manage and oversee labor and employment disputes and litigation, including EEOC, OSHA, and DOL matters.
• Lead internal investigations and advise on resolution strategies.
• Partner with HR to ensure compliance, conduct audits, and deliver training.
• Provide guidance on compensation, benefits, and ERISA matters.
• Support business operations, contracts, M&A, governance, and regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to risk assessments, internal audits, and policy development.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years' experience as an associate with an AmLaw 200 firm or specialty boutique or as in-house counsel with focus on labor and employment.
• Experience with U.S. government contracting preferred.
• Proven ability to advise senior leadership and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
