Senior Director, Accounting And Finance

Directs the accounting and finance departments, overseeing general accounting, financial planning and analysis, reporting, accounts payable and for the MillerKnoll Textiles business.

Essential functions:

  • Close/Financial reporting- oversight of the company's monthly close and financial reporting processes, including corporate reporting related to public company requirements
  • Audits- evaluate year-end financial audit package; supervise SOX and sales tax audits
  • Relationships- business partnership with Textiles leadership team, counterparts at parent company, outside consultants and advisors
  • Treasury- oversight of treasury function including cash management
  • Credit- oversight of the credit function of the businesses
  • Budgets- direct monthly and annual budgeting processes
  • Finance- oversight of financial reporting, planning and analysis
  • Tax- supervise the sales and use tax and VAT functions
  • Entity Consolidation reporting including consolidating international entities
  • Financial systems maintain and upgrade financial systems as required
  • Reporting and communication for monthly results to all levels of the business
  • Staff- hire, train and mentor accounting staff

Magnitude and relationship reporting:

This position reports to the SVP of Finance at MillerKnoll and may receive additional assignments from various members of Senior Management.

Contacts inside and outside the organization:

This position typically has contact with employees at all levels of the organization. It also has direct contact with the company's accountants, vendors and other external customers.

Knowledge and skills:

  • Accounting knowledge through general ledger and financial statements
  • Highly organized and able to multitask
  • Ability to work with staff through all levels of the organization
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work with confidential information

Education and experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
  • 5 - 7 years of management experience

A starting compensation range for this role is $154,375.00 - $211,300.00. Relevant salary considerations will include candidate qualifications and experience, other business/organizational needs and market factors. You may also be eligible to receive a geographic premium, annual discretionary incentive and equity awards which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
