Job Description :

Description At AWS, developers are at the core of our innovation. We are launching AI-powered tools like Amazon Q Developer, designed to streamline code writing, quicken debugging, and reduce tedious manual tasks. We seek seasoned builders eager to empower fellow developers to enhance their productivity using these tools while influencing the future landscape of developer productivity.

As a Senior Developer Advocate on our Developer Productivity team, you will collaborate closely with the teams creating these tools and assist thousands of developers globally in understanding their practical applications. This high-visibility role offers the chance to establish yourself as a leading authority in AI-assisted development through your content creation, community engagement, and product feedback.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive technical content highlighting Amazon Q Developer and associated AI development tools.
  • Create in-depth video tutorials, live coding demonstrations, and thorough implementation guides to aid developers in integrating these tools into their workflows.
  • Focus on detailed technical content illustrating complete problem-solving scenarios, such as modernizing legacy applications or constructing full-stack architectures.
  • Conduct technical demonstrations featuring full application builds, integration patterns for existing setups, and showcasing workflows across different programming languages.
  • Produce content tailored for frontend developers, backend engineers, and full-stack teams, addressing their specific challenges in adopting AI-assisted development.
  • Utilize hands-on coding and community engagement to pinpoint gaps between developer needs and current tool capabilities.
  • Engage with engineering teams to influence product roadmaps based on developer feedback, contribute to open-source projects, and create guides that facilitate measurable productivity gains.

A Day in the Life Your day might start by reviewing community feedback on your latest Amazon Q Developer tutorial, then proceed to building a live coding demo on Java modernization techniques. You will actively participate in developer forums and engage sincerely in technical conversations where AI development tools fit. Collaboration with product teams on features, testing beta releases, or crafting content that responds to real developer pain points will be part of your responsibilities. The day might end with preparations for a conference talk or drafting a technical blog post that simplifies complex integration patterns into actionable steps.

About the Team We are developers dedicated to advocating for tools that genuinely assist fellow developers. Our mission is to illustrate how AI-powered development tools seamlessly integrate into existing workflows while delivering quantifiable productivity enhancements. We work directly with the developer community to understand real challenges, collaborating with product and engineering teams to elevate developer experiences by incorporating community feedback into our development processes. Our approach emphasizes presenting working code rather than abstract concepts, engaging as technical peers, and sharing authentic development experiences, including challenges faced along the way.
