Senior Desktop Engineer - Silver Search : Job Details

The Senior Desktop Lead Engineer leads desktop strategy and execution, overseeing everything from laptop setup to user experience improvements across the firm. This senior-level role includes technical leadership, second-level support, image management, and vendor coordination. The position also supervises a junior engineer and requires comfort working with all levels of staff, including senior executives.

• Design and deliver the desktop-as-a-product experience for firm staff.
• Maintain and optimize standard laptop images and software configurations.
• Install, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, thin clients, and mobile devices.
• Provide technical leadership to desktop support staff and set best practices.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with security requirements.
• Act as the voice of the user for desktop performance and experience.
• Deliver second-level support and end-user training as needed.
• Lead and contribute to special projects and process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years as a desktop engineer, preferably in a professional services environment.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members.
• Familiarity with VMware Horizon, antivirus integration, and legal-industry software is a plus.
• Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
