Our hearing aids now incorporate Artificial Intelligence, embedded activity sensors, language translation and transcription services, as well as an always-on personal voice assistant.Starkey is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Instructional Designer to join our dynamic Education and Training team at our global headquarters in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. As part of the largest provider of continuing education for hearing care professionals in the U.S., this role is instrumental in helping deliver consistent, engaging, and effective learning experiences by collaborating closely with content developers and subject matter experts. The Senior Instructional Designer will assist in the design, development, and delivery of a wide range of training programs. While materials may include online modules, workbooks, and video content, the primary focus is on creating high-quality, visually engaging slide presentations using PowerPoint. Strong skills in transitions, animations, and visual storytelling are essential, as these presentations serve as the core of our virtual and in-person learning experiences. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker and creative problem solver who is passionate about transforming complex information into impactful learning that supports employee development, customer education, and enterprise-wide learning initiatives.Job Responsibilities/Results

• Design, develop, and enhance PowerPoint presentations to support training programs, workshops, and executive communications.
• Apply instructional design principles to structure content effectively for adult learners.
• Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate complex information into clear, engaging, and visually appealing slides.
• Incorporate multimedia elements, including animations, effective transitions, graphics, and interactive components, to improve learner engagement.
• Ensure all learning materials align with branding guidelines and accessibility standards.
• Conduct needs assessments to determine training gaps and recommend appropriate instructional solutions.
• Review and revise existing presentations to enhance clarity, effectiveness, and visual appeal.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in instructional design and visual communication.
• Seek out new and innovative approaches to presentation design.
• Transform complex copy-heavy slides into digestible content while retaining the overall message.
• Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements

• Education
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
• Experience
• 5+ years of experience in instructional design, training development, or a similar role.

Knowledge / Technical Requirements

• Expert proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, including advanced animation, slide transitions, design techniques, video, audio, and photography editing capabilities.
• Multimedia authoring tool such as the Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, InDesign, and Premier Pro.
• Competency in e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Captivate or equivalent e-learning software.
• Effective knowledge in Microsoft Office 365.
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design models.
• Experience working with SMEs and cross-functional teams to develop effective training materials.
• Excellent visual design skills with an eye for layout, typography, color, brand standards and cohesive design.
• Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines.
• Attention to detail and ability to work both independently and with others.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Competence in design and reducing complexity of material.

Salary And Other CompensationThe annual salary for this position is between $75,460 - $94,500 / year. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is eligible for a bonus based upon performance results. There is no guarantee of payout.
