WATG is hiring a Senior Designer I for our Atlantic City, New Jersey office.

Role

The Senior Designer I combines creativity, technical expertise, and business skills to produce functional, beautiful spaces. With a background in architecture or interior design, the Senior Designer develops innovative design concepts, utilizing creativity, foresight, and judgment to meet project requirements and deliver exceptional design solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate on interior design projects, including programming, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, and construction documentation.
  • Develop innovative, practical, aesthetic, and safe design concepts aligned with client goals, schedule, and budget.
  • Sculpt interior spaces as a holistic experience, including furniture, lighting, artwork, and finishes/materials.
  • Participate in selecting and presenting furniture, fabrics, FF&E, color palettes, and lighting.
  • Generate finish plans, specifications, and material selections for construction.
  • Provide design support during project execution.
  • Work with external consultants, product reps, and fabricators.
  • Lead project coordination, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively with clients and consultants.
  • Present conceptual designs through 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Support construction administration, respond to RFIs and COs, and review shop drawings.
  • Assist in subcontracting fabrication, installation, and material arrangements.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations with senior leadership.
  • Contribute to contract preparation, liability, and fee calculations.
  • Attend team meetings to ensure alignment with design intent.
  • Mentor team members and incorporate sustainable design solutions.
  • Promote a green workplace through sustainable practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited university.
  • Environmental accreditation preferred.
  • 10+ years in architectural practice with hospitality interior design experience.
  • Proficient in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Rhino, 3D Studio Max, Grasshopper, Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, and color selections.
  • Strong visualization, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Job Information
  • Salary: $85,000 - $105,000 per year
