Job Description

Senior Design Engineer needed for a growing company with an excellent reputation and high employee satisfaction. This key role in their design department offers an excellent opportunity for someone with 5-10 years of experience in designing complex parts or components in the automotive or agricultural marketplace. 3D Design experience in SolidWorks is required. Previous launch experience with new products is also necessary.

Requirements:

• Associate's degree in Design, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Design Engineering; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least 5+ years of experience in design, preferably with automotive or machinery components.
• Ability to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with IBM-compatible PCs and relevant software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office). SolidWorks is required, along with AutoCAD 2013, UG, PTC Creo.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective verbal and written communication with both internal teams and external customers.

Duties:

• Design industrial components from initial concept through detailed final designs.
• Collaborate with customer engineers to assist in product design.
• Optimize manufacturing costs through design improvements.
• Assist in designing tooling aids for manufacturing.
• Work with manufacturing engineering and operations to develop lean manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate with internal and external suppliers on component design and specifications.
• Determine routings for new products.
• Maintain sales engineering contacts with customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
