Ingham County is hiring for a Deputy Clerk position with a salary of $48,977.21 annually in Lansing, MI. This is a regular full-time position with the Circuit Court department. The position could close at any time based on the number of qualified applications.

Under the supervision of the Clerical Services Supervisor Circuit Court, the Deputy Clerk will perform more complex functions, including preparing orders, notices, and other documents. The role involves drawing, swearing, and taking verdicts of juries. The Deputy Clerk will also handle complex office functions, including expedient processing of urgent matters, data entry, and coordinating information between various stakeholders. The position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, twist, bend, and lift, among other physical requirements.

Education: An Associate's Degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, criminal justice, or a related field or advanced training is required. Experience: More than three years of progressively more responsible or expansive experience in a court clerk, court, law firm, or related field is required. Other Requirements: Must be able to be commissioned and serve as a Notary Public. The employer will be responsible for the cost of acquiring the commission, including the surety bond fee.
