Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center offering services across various counties including Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia, and Westchester. We are currently looking for a full-time Dental Assistant to support our mission.

About the Role: As a Senior Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting dentists and hygienists while ensuring that every patient receives exceptional care. Your responsibilities will include preparing and dismantling operatory setups for patient treatments and maintaining compliance with health and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Check in patients and promptly inform providers of their arrival.
  • Monitor and update patient charts accurately, ensuring all necessary documents are included in medical records.
  • Document daily appointment data, including no-shows and cancellations, to aid in statistical reporting.
  • Take and process radiographs as directed, assisting dental professionals with patient care.
  • Adhere to OSHA infection control standards and maintain the dental operatory's cleanliness.
  • Manage dental laboratory processes, including instrument processing and monitoring cases.
  • Carry out regular maintenance procedures for sterilization equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; vocational/technical school training is preferred.
  • At least one year of relevant work experience in a dental setting.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, both orally and in writing, is required.
