Section 1: Position Summary

The Senior Database Engineer provides top-level support for maintaining and optimizing the company's multiple backend database systems. Offers guidance and assistance to junior staff in daily tasks and projects.

Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs complex database administration and design work.
• Identifies and facilitates resolution of data issues across multiple environments.
• Participates in developing corporate database architecture and data standards.
• Provides system analysis on production systems.
• Contributes to setting future IT direction through team participation.
• Collaborates with development and helpdesk teams to guide code development.
• Reviews code prior to QA implementation.
• Implements database code across multiple servers.
• Provides system analysis for all system environments.
• Participates in bi-yearly disaster recovery drills.
• Creates detailed documentation for DBA tasks and procedures.
• Contributes to various database projects.
• Ensures the protection and security of all client data to prevent unauthorized access or transmission.
• Embodies our I-Client service philosophy and core values of People Matter, Quality First, and Integrity Always in daily actions, supporting organizational culture.

Section 3: Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Math, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years' experience in SQL Server Database Administration.
• Basic understanding of business functions.
• Knowledge of database design and administration techniques.
• Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
• Ability to work independently and in teams, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
• Understanding of the Development Life Cycle.
• Strong knowledge of Data Modeling, Relational Concepts, and Data Warehousing.
• Experience supporting SQL Server Data Warehouse environments.
• Good analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with vendors, management, and staff.
• Attention to detail and sound judgment.
• Self-motivated with adherence to standards.
• Capable of working under pressure with multiple priorities.
• Willingness to work weekends or off-hours when necessary.
