We are looking for an experienced database administrator to work with a diverse team of software engineers, data scientists, and analysts to explore and develop solutions on a large, complex development project. The candidate will be expected to integrate into the existing data team and fulfill the role of ensuring the readiness and availability of databases necessary for production, recommending solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, maintaining activity logs, and performing software patching and backup routines. Additional responsibilities may include supervising a team of database engineers, updating existing and creating new documentation, supporting technical and operational meetings on system status and issues, projecting long-term requirements, and preparing regular progress reports. The greater team is building and deploying a next-generation modeling & simulation framework. We are less focused on specific M&S experience than finding innovative, self-starters who can adapt to a fast-paced, high-profile development effort. This work may be performed in either of our Huntsville, AL or Dayton, OH locations.
