What You Will Do

  • Own delivery of large and/or complex data science and engineering projects
  • Lead in the development and testing of hypotheses across all functional data sets
  • Lead requirements gathering sessions with business and technical staff to distill technical requirements from business requests
  • Define and implement integrated data models, allowing data from multiple sources to be combined
  • Design and develop scalable, efficient data pipeline processes for data ingestion, cleansing, transformation, integration, and validation
  • Define and implement data stores based on system and user requirements
  • Develop models to understand and solve complex business problems using techniques like data mining, statistical analysis, predictive modeling, stochastic modeling, pattern recognition, probability analysis, and network analysis
  • Design and implement production models using technologies such as SAS, Python, and R
  • Leverage existing data sets and engineer new data sets, including developing SQL queries, data integration, and resolving data quality issues
  • Apply advanced understanding of Big Data systems to data engineering and analytics model implementation
  • Review analytic models and algorithms
  • Identify actionable insights, make recommendations, and influence business decisions by effectively communicating results to cross-functional teams
  • Document and validate analytic processes, ensuring performance and data quality
  • What You Bring

    • Bachelor's degree or higher (or equivalent experience)
    • 5+ years of experience in a related field
    • Or, in lieu of a degree, 7+ years of relevant experience

    Salary Range

    At Blue Cross NC, we offer a fair and competitive compensation package, including a base salary typically near the middle of the range listed, along with a Total Rewards package comprising an Annual Incentive Bonus*, 401(k) with employer match, Paid Time Off (PTO), and comprehensive health benefits and wellness programs.

    *Based on corporate goals and individual performance.

    $100,500.00 - $182,700.00
