Job Summary

Ascot Group, a leading commercial insurance company, seeks a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist for our AI team. The role involves developing advanced data analysis, machine learning techniques, and LLMs to drive innovation, efficiency, and decision-making. The position may be hybrid in-office/remote.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct complex data analysis, build predictive models, and identify trends to enhance underwriting and risk assessment.
  • Develop and deploy machine learning algorithms to automate processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Leverage large language models to automate document intake, customer/employee interactions, streamline claims, and improve risk evaluations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into existing systems.
  • Stay updated on AI advancements and apply them to insurance applications; develop insurance process expertise.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security with large datasets.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations effectively to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Support additional ad hoc projects as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's or Ph.D. preferred in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data science, focusing on AI, machine learning, and LLM integration.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, SQL; experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Azure, Databricks is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret complex data and generate insights.
  • Experience in financial services industry desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical info to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Team-oriented, positive, self-motivated, with strong interpersonal skills.

Salary range in NY metro: $165,000 - $185,000.
