Job Summary:
We are seeking a Data Links/Networking Engineer with an engineering degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering, to support the Special Operations Forces/Personnel Recovery (AFLCMC/WIS) directorate.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide data links and networking interoperability engineering, consultation, and support for designing, developing, manufacturing, integrating, testing, and deploying subsystems components for air-to-air and air-to-ground communications. Support includes design, development, integration, and testing of data link messaging such as J-Series, K-Series, and VMF messages in accordance with MIL-STDs -6016 and -6017. Additionally, support includes development and sustainment of Network Architectures and processes to obtain Air Force Systems Interoperability Testing (AFSIT) and Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) certifications.Provide advisory assistance and draft documentation support to conduct reviews and studies, document performance requirements, and support modifications affecting flight mechanics and system-level integration.Assist the Government by providing knowledge, guidance, and artifacts to support systems integration; OSS&E; airworthiness certification per MIL-HDBK-516; safety per MIL-STD-882; and AFI 63-1201 Life Cycle Systems Engineering.Required Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited university plus 12 years of relevant engineering experience, with at least 6 years in systems, flight systems, avionics, software, or testing for the DoD. Alternatively, a Master's Degree in an engineering field (EE preferred) with over 12 years of experience, with at least 6 years in the relevant specialty areas.
- Active Secret DoD Security clearance.
- Other professional engineering degrees (ABET accredited) are acceptable with a minimum of 8 years of the 12 years of engineering experience in avionics, software, or testing for the DoD.
