Senior Data Engineer - Global X ETFs : Job Details

Global X ETFs, the New York-based provider of Exchange Traded Funds and Great Place to Work Certified company, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our growing Digital Platforms team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing and implementing data architecture solutions and will be responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of our data pipeline infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, ensuring high availability and reliability of data flow
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Implement data storage solutions, including data warehousing, data lakes, and NoSQL databases
• Develop data integration solutions to ensure accurate and timely data transfer between systems
• Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and tools to continuously improve data infrastructure
• Ensure the security and privacy of sensitive data
• Mentor and coach other engineers and developers, providing technical guidance and support as it relates to data or general best practices
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in data engineer

Desired Skills and Experience

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related experience
• At least 5-7 years of experience in data engineering
• Extensive expertise in designing and implementing data pipelines
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and experience working with large-scale data sets
• Strong knowledge of SQL and writing efficient queries
• Experience with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or DynamoDB
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Additional Experience

• Experience in software development
• Using DBT for model generation
• Using ETLeap, Stitch, Fivetran or similar data pipeline service (or built from scratch)
• Experience with Snowflake

The base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $145,000. In addition, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and competitive benefits package. The total compensation package for this position may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
