The Product & Data Engineering team develops Disney's consumer-facing products, including Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, across various platforms, driving innovation at scale for millions globally.

This role focuses on building and maintaining Identity and Device Data products, ensuring reliable real-time and batch data delivery through scalable, fault-tolerant pipelines.

  • Develop and enhance Identity and Device data products.
  • Redesign data models for performance and modernization, participate in code reviews, and support on-call duties.
  • Promote Agile practices like Scrum and Kanban.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and communicate technical decisions.
  • Mentor junior Data Engineers and support team skills development.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • 5+ years in big data engineering, modeling, and developing large data pipelines.
  • Experience with distributed systems (Hadoop, Databricks, Spark, Presto, Hive).
  • Strong skills in Python, Scala, and SQL.
  • Experience with cloud databases (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks).
  • Knowledge of Data Modeling and Data Warehousing best practices.
  • Operational experience in multi-system environments.
  • Problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience with data integration tools (Airflow), CI/CD, and AWS S3.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (Terraform).
  • Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, AWS.

Educational requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
