Ensures that safe work practices are observed.
Maintains records and makes reports.
Monitors contract janitorial services.Investigates and resolves service complaints.Reports building conditions requiring repair or maintenance.Ensures an adequate inventory of chemicals, supplies, and equipment is stocked and distributed to cleaning crews.
Ensures cleaning equipment is properly maintained; identifies worn out or damaged equipment for salvage.Occasionally performs the work of a custodian.
Drives automotive equipment to and from work sites.
Provides task direction and oversight to volunteers, inmates, and community service workers performing janitorial duties.
REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY:
Option I:Two (2) years of experience as a Custodian Working Supervisor* or higher supervising workers performing cleaning duties in institutions**, office buildings or commercial buildings.
Option II:Three (3) years of experience supervising workers performing cleaning duties in institutions*, office buildings or commercial buildings.LICENSE:A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.PHYSICAL CLASS III – MODERATE:This class requires that the incumbent stand or walk most of the time with bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, working on irregular surfaces, occasional lifting of objects weighing over 25 pounds, and frequent lifting of 10-25 pounds.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:This examination will consist of an evaluation of experience based upon application information, desirable qualifications, and supplemental questionnaire, weighted 100%.Additional points will be awarded for additional experience beyond the selection requirements.
The passing score for the assessment is 70%ELIGIBILITY AND VACANCY INFORMATION:Applications will be processed as they are received and added to the eligible register accordingly.
Candidates who passed the assessment(s) are placed on a register in the order of their score group for a period of (12) months. The resulting eligible register from this examination will be used to fill vacancies throughout the Department of Health Services as they occur.
NO PERSON MAY COMPETE IN THIS EXAMINATION MORE THAN ONCE EVERY TWELVE (12) MONTHS.
