Senior Cost Engineer - Magna International : Job Details

Mission of the Position:The Cost Engineer is responsible for generating bottom-up cost modeling for HPDC Cast, Forging, Stamping, Powder Metal, Electronic, Plastic components within Magna Powertrain. Analysis of supplier cost breakdowns for purchased parts. The Cost Engineer should also support cross functional cost down workshops. Support the Target Costing group, Benchmark team and target/benchmark activities. This job requires strong knowledge of Cost Engineering methods, and Automotive industry Machining manufacturing processes. Ability to read technical drawings, demonstrate analytical skills. Key Responsibilities:Determine / analyze manufacturing processes; estimate required labor, overhead and tooling requirements as needed. Review supplier component quotes and negotiate with suppliers as required. With analysis shared with Purchasing and core project teams. Develop and maintain product cost database.
