Ford and SK On are investing billions in Kentucky and Tennessee including building three state-of-the art battery manufacturing facilities between the two campuses at BlueOval City in Tennessee and BlueOval SK Battery Park in Kentucky. These brand-new advanced manufacturing facilities will use Ford's 100-years of automobile manufacturing expertise and SK On's 30+ years of electric vehicle battery expertise to become the world's best battery manufacturer.
The Senior Controls Engineer at BlueOval SK will have a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a key member of the start-up team, launching the facility from the ground up.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
The Senior Controls Engineer will be responsible to shape, develop political strategies, and advocate for legislative and regulatory policies that support BlueOval SK's leadership role in current and emerging issues. In addition, the Senior Controls Engineer will be responsible to oversee and leverage engagement with existing and new coalitions/forums to align BlueOval SK's public policy positions and build support across all key stakeholders.
Drive consistent application of procedures across all departments/plants
Coordinate cross-functional support with BME Controls Team
Drive foundational requirements such as:
4M Change management
Drawings, Software
Back-up Solutions/NAS (Network Attached Storage)
ProTag closure
MES Validation
Andon Boards
Coordinate off-shift coverage
Oversee software assets plantwide
Controls Laptops
Tablets
NAS
Secure USB's
Cameras
Support development of Controls Lab
PLC, HMI, Vision, Robot, etc.
Drive Best Practices internally and to TN
Support JCI/Facilities with controls expertise
Support off-shift/vacation coverage
Primary point of contact for Major Breakdowns/3L5W
New project support to ensure equipment specs are followed

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree
Five (5) years of operations experience in a leadership role
Experience with Greenfield / Startup Sites
7 years of Advanced level Controls Engineering experience.
Ability to develop and modify PLC/HMI logic (Mitsubishi PLC Software preferred).
Advanced level PLC programming proficiency is required as this is not an intermediate level position.
Highly proficient in the development and troubleshooting of vision system, robotics, servo drives systems.
Capable of teaching and leading
Preferred Requirements
Master's degree
Ten (10) years of operations experience in a leadership role
Manufacturing experience including automotive (assembly a plus)
Six Sigma Blackbelt
Experience working with joint ventures and/or different cultures
Background in Lean Manufacturing
