Job Description
The Senior Controls Engineer is an integral part of Champion's continued success in applying Process Automation and SCADA solutions. This critical, high-profile role is primarily focused on PLC control and SCADA data visualization; incorporating automation, energy monitoring, and system analytics.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Programming, configuring, and maintaining PLC programs and SCADA objects in the SCADA system that control and model field assets.Deploying and configuring SCADA objects to support data acquisition from field assets as they are brought online and changed in the field.Creating and enforcing project-specific standards, enhancing solutions, benchmarking performance metrics, and estimating effort for initiatives.Creating animated visualizations of system graphics and operator interface screens.Generating custom programming scripts for global functions.Creating submittals for projects.Commissioning and startup of instrumentation and controls projects.Minimum Requirements:
- BSc in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience with SCADA, PLC, and HMI applications.
- Field experience in startup and commissioning Water and Wastewater I&C projects.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding electrical control schematics.
- Solid understanding of control and process logic, communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, MODbus, TCP/IP), and network infrastructure.
- Experience with Factory Talk, Iconics Genesis, Wonderware, GE Fanuc Intellution/Proficy, Citect, Motorola Moscad/ACE 3600 applications.
- Experience in control and ladder logic programming, scripting, and uploading programs to PLCs. HMI development experience is a plus.
- Experience with calibration, startup, and commissioning of industrial instruments.
