Senior Consultant with DevOps skills - Capacitas : Job Details

Salary: Up to £60,000 (Consultant) or £70,000 (Senior Consultant) depending on experience, plus competitive bonus based off company and individual performance

Type: Permanent, full-time

Location: Hybrid. You can work from your home, though you must be able to travel to our Farringdon, Central London office or client sites (mostly London) as required. This is likely to be once per week at the least.

About the role

As a Consultant with Capacitas, you will be quickly utilised on client engagements, working as part of a project team with experienced and talented colleagues. You will most often be in a client serving role and the range of projects you work on will vary according to current demand and your professional development path. Typical projects include:

• Automating through use of DevOps capability
• Conducting client DevOps maturity assessments
• Looking for ways to reduce client money spent on IT & DevOps infrastructure
• Creating and updating in-house toolsets using a variety of programming languages
• Applying DevOps expertise to enable internal and external clients
• Automation of test packs for both internal and external products and teams
• Transferring your technical knowledge to juniors, providing feedback and support to facilitate the development of others

3) Have the following experience and abilities:

Technical

• Have a computer science background
• Have a background in working with DevOps or Development teams
• Have interest in and knowledge of the cloud and DevOps, especially AWS and Azure environments
• Have interest and knowledge in CI/CD processes and pipeline configuration using tools such as Jenkins
• Have knowledge in VCS tools for storing and committing source code, such as GitHub or Azure DevOps
• Have working practice on working with Development teams
• Have knowledge and working practice with Development projects, using front-end and back-end languages, such as Angular, Python or C#
• At least intermediate excel skills for data analysis

Other

• Communicates and presents clearly and professionally

• Able to understand customer requirements and business objectives
• Able to work effectively as part of a team and independently
• Able to lead and manage simple projects
• Willingness and ability to learn new technical tools

Qualifications

2.1 degree (or equivalent), or an advanced degree in one of the following areas:

• Computing
• Sciences
• Mathematics

OR

2.1 bachelors or advanced degree from any discipline + demonstrated desire and aptitude, proven through work experience, to work in tech
