As a Senior Consultant in our FTA team, you will tackle complex tax issues and create effective tax strategies that manage the impact of taxes on our clients' businesses. You'll focus on identifying tax savings and refund opportunities in areas like FDII, BEAT, GILTI planning, R&D credits, accounting methods, and more.
The Opportunity
In this role, you'll benefit from our market-leading approach that combines federal tax expertise with compliance and strategic planning to deliver exceptional value to our clients. You will:
- Interface with clients and support project management activities.
- Analyze datasets, evaluate laws and regulations, and collaborate with subject matter experts to assess client facts.
- Guide and mentor associates, participating in their development and engagement activities.
- Deliver high-quality analysis and client engagements in collaboration with managers and partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver effective tax solutions to meet client needs.
- Perform tax research and prepare technical memoranda.
- Manage projects to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Develop knowledge in specific client industries and sectors.
- Support the growth of associates through feedback and mentorship.
- Stay updated on trends and technical issues relevant to client scenarios.
- Innovate using current tools such as Microsoft Power BI and Alteryx.
To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have:
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related fields, with approximately four years of experience, or a graduate degree in tax or law with about three years of experience.
- A CPA or Attorney designation or eligibility to obtain one.
- Experience in tax research and analysis of large datasets.
- Strong communication and project management skills.
- A collaborative team spirit, ready to supervise and mentor team members.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Access, and data mining tools.
Ideally, You'll Also Have:
- Experience with IRS tax controversy and statistical sampling.
- Familiarity with current data analytics tools.
- Big 4 experience or certifications in Alteryx or Microsoft products.
- Advanced degrees like MST or JD.
