Mortgage Compliance Specialist

Inspire Home Loans, a Century Communities, Inc. company, is seeking an experienced Mortgage Compliance Specialist to join the team. This role will be responsible for monitoring regulatory changes and requirements, as well as state and federal disclosure and document requirements. The Compliance Specialist supports the mortgage operations team for compliance questions and identifying any training needs. This is one position and will be remote. The position can be filled in Arizona, California, Colorado or North Carolina. Qualified candidates MUST reside in one of the listed locations to be considered, (Remote AZ, Newport Beach, CA or Charlotte, NC).

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Monitor regulatory changes and requirements.
  • Monitor state and federal disclosure and document requirements.
  • Support mortgage operations for compliance questions and additional training.
  • Work with the operations team to prepare rebuttals and responses.
  • Assist with the investor, state, or federal regulatory examinations.
  • Assist with development for new loan programs.
  • Assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive compliance training program.
  • Report and discuss QC and internal audit findings with senior management.
  • Assist secondary to address any investor compliance concerns.
  • Maintain a library of applicable Federal and State laws and regulations.
  • Maintain a competent level of expertise and knowledge of the requirements of the various laws, regulations, rules governing the mortgage company's activities, including pending updates, provide quarterly updates to management. (specifically responsible for up to 6 states)
  • Identify, work with business to resolve/remediate process related issues.
  • Conduct routine and targeted internal compliance reviews, focusing on state, federal regulatory, investor concerns and Inspire P&Ps.
  • Apply standard diagnostic techniques to identify problems and investigate the causes of end-user reported issues with technology (POS, LOS).
  • Issues management and remediation.
  • Develop processes of new consumer financial products or services, distribute channels or strategies to determine degree of compliance and consider fair lending compliance risk.
  • Provide regulator research.
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

What You Have:

  • Understanding of the entire loan cycle.
  • Working AML knowledge, to assist with filing SARS.
  • Understanding of privacy laws.
  • Must complete MBA CMCP Level 2, or equivalent.
  • A clear understanding of mortgage lending laws and Federal Regulations to include TILA, RegZ, ECOA, RESPA.
  • Experience with compliance testing and risk analysis.
  • Experience handling state and federal examinations.
  • Proficient with compliance management systems and loan origination systems, Encompass a plus.
  • Knowledgeable of HMDA regulations, a plus.
  • Knowledgeable of NMLS Licensing, a plus.
  • Expertise with MS Office products, specifically Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Your Education and Experience:

  • A college degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • 5-7 years of mortgage lending, compliance, QC and/or Secondary Marketing required.

Compensation

Inspire Home Loans intends to offer the selected candidate an annual base salary in the range of $82,500 - $90,000 with potential for other financial incentives. Actual offers will be based on a variety of factors, including experience. Employees will have access to paid time off, medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance and the Company's 401k plan.
