The position can be based in any of the following AXIS office locations: NYC; Red Bank, NJ; Short Hills, NJ; and Alpharetta, GA.ResponsibilitiesHighest level individual contributor reviewing claims to determine the nature of loss, coverage, and scope.Utilize legal frameworks and claims handling practices relevant to jurisdictions, especially Construction and New York Labor Law.Investigate claims and develop resolution strategies, including documentation of contracts, logs, records, reports, etc.Thoroughly document the claim process, including coverage, damages, reserves, negotiations.Review contracts for risk transfer, coverage, and tender review.Investigate potentially fraudulent claims and take appropriate actions.Make settlement/disposition recommendations.Identify opportunities for contribution and subrogation.Prepare reports for senior management.Travel to mediations or settlement conferences as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.7 to 10 years of related claims handling experience in a primary commercial casualty insurance environment.Supervisory experience or perspective.Experience handling New York Labor Law, Product Liability, and Complex litigation claims.Proficient in analyzing coverage issues and drafting correspondence.BenefitsSalary ranges are approximately USD $105K-125K in GA, $125K-160K in NY, and $120K-150K in NJ, based on experience and location.
