The Claims Division is seeking a team member to join the Executive Assurance Team as Senior Claims Examiner. Responsibilities include managing a caseload of claims such as Public D&O, Private Company D&O, Financial Lines, and Private Equity related claims.

• Identify and assess coverage issues, draft coverage position letters, and retain coverage counsel as needed.
• Develop and implement strategies related to coverage issues, liability, and damages.
• Maintain contact with claim staff, business line leaders, underwriters, defense counsel, and brokers.
• Investigate claims, review relevant documents, and analyze jurisdictional statutes and case law.
• Review litigation materials and analyze risk transfer, additional insured, and contractual indemnity issues.
• Retain and direct counsel when necessary, and analyze reserves for coverage, liability, and damages.
• Prepare and present reports to senior management and travel as needed for mediations and trials.
• Negotiate claims resolutions, review defense counsel invoices, and maintain claim diaries and reserves.

• Bachelors degree required; Juris Doctorate preferred.
• 5-7 years managing professional liability claims at a carrier, broker, or law firm.
• Proper adjuster licensing preferred.
• Exceptional communication, evaluation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
